Rodeo season is fast approaching. Please read your new rulebook as there are
quite a few changes from 2008. The
changes do not just pertain to the contestants. If rules are not followed, fines will be
applied in 2008. Rulebooks will be
available at the membership rodeo at
Contestants: Before rodeo season gets in to full swing, please remember the rules. Know your card number and anyone else’s card number you are entering. CASH only at all approved TCRA rodeos. Some producers may accept checks but please know their check policy before you try and give a check at one of their rodeos. Remember you must have purchased a current TCRA card three (3) days prior to the first performance or slack for your money to count at that rodeo. You can purchase a card at the rodeo but your money will not start accumulating till the next weekend. On TURNOUTS, you must notify the rodeo secretary if you are turning out. If you need to draw out prior to the rodeo, you must again contact the rodeo secretary where you entered the rodeo to draw out.
Slack: Definition of rodeo slack is an over flow of contestants in a performance. Slack is only if the performances fill. Contestants please DO NOT call in 10 minutes after the books open and ask for slack. If you plan on entering the slack, at least wait 3 – 4 hours before entering. Also, a few producers may draw for slack this year if they cannot fill the performances at their rodeos. Be prepared. If slack is drawn for, you will have to call back to see if you are entered in the performance or slack.
Rodeo Listings: The rodeo list is growing slowly but as soon as the approvals come into the TCRA office they will be posted on the Internet.
Sponsorships: As usual, please HELP your Director get donations for the finals in your event. Sponsor packets can be obtain through the TCRA office or ask your Director.
Co approved Rodeos: If you enter and can’t go you will have to pay your fees. You must notify their office if a doctor release and a vet release (barrel racers only) is used.
Stock Contractors: You will receive an updated judges list. If someone you plan on using at your rodeos this summer is not on the list, please contact Alan Hennigh. There is a fine for using unapproved judges. This will be enforced in 2008.
Dues: Contestants dues are now $100, Non-Contesting Card is $60, and a Stock Contractor card is $75.00.
