It’s already time for the August issue!  Summer is moving fast!   Dry parched land, hot temperatures, and no rain seems to be the only news in Texas. The rodeos over the Fourth of July weekend produced several leader board changes.  Rookie barrel racer: Taylor Langdon won Amarillo and Canadian and placed at the Wellington to take the lead in the barrels.   Matt Carlson is still on a roll as he kept his lead in the calf roping event.  Matt Bennett and Cody Joe Bonds held on to their event lead in the Bareback and Saddle Bronc, respectively.  Rookie bull rider, Chris McCombs has taken the lead in the bull riding.  Director, Jake Mitchell had a good weekend and leads the standings in the ranch bronc riding.  Karen Little’s rope was hot over the fourth as she won both Amarillo and Canadian in the breakaway to keep her number one position in the breakaway and All Around race. Rookie Trey Harmon leads the Headers and Jed Middleton moved to the number one spot in the heeling position.  Jace Rambat took over the lead in the Steer Wrestling after the fourth run.  Lots of good rodeos are in August, so keep fueling those trucks and good luck to all.

To all those who were sick or injured over the fourth, hope everyone is well and mended and ready for the August rodeos. To mention a few member contestants missing the action due to either an illness or injury: Vice President, Cliff Kirkpatrick, 2010 All Around champion, Rusty Slavin, and Calf Roper, Clay Paige.
